Flying is one of our passions at Crown Jewel, and we are devoted to promoting it as a fascinating and affordable adventure. And, what better place to promote this passion than the land of the Silver Dart? Our airstrip is in the same area Alexander Graham Bell lived his dream, building and flying the Silver Dart in 1909.

Our sister company - Crown Jewel Aviation - operates a 4-seat Cessna 172. We offer year round excursions and charter flights in the Cape Breton area.

Are you a pilot yourself? Tired of heavily congested skies? Come enjoy our unlimited class G airspace whether with your own airplane or rent our C-172. If required, our staff will be happy to help you with foreign license validation.

Eco-Flying adventures for pilots and non-pilots

Silver Dart short run - approx. 15 minute flight covering the stories of Alexander Graham Bell, the Silver Dart and the first flight in Canada, the history of the beautiful resort village of Baddeck and the farming community of Big Baddeck.
Silver Dart long run - approx. 30 minute flight that includes all of the above and extends to the farming communities of Big Baddeck and the Glens, Usige Ban Falls, Bell Lakes and Bald Mountain.
Sky trekking the Cabot Trail - approx. 1.5 hours flight around the majestic Cabot Trail. Fertile valleys along meandering rivers, rugged coast line, small fishing villages, hidden coves and occasional wildlife. Flying the Cabot Trail brings you a new dimension to the wonder called - The Cabot Trail.

Flying to Romantic Getaways

Wine tasting - Leaving Baddeck in the morning, along the Eastern Shore to Waterville airport in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. Tour the winery at Grand Pre, tasting its award winning wines and lunch at the winery restaurant - Le Caveau. The flight back takes us to the Confederation Bridge then along the North Shore back to Baddeck before dinner time.
Eco-Culinary adventure at Flavours - we take you from anywhere in Nova Scotia for a slow food dinner at Crown Jewel Resort Ranch. The dinner features locally grown organic produce and seasonal wild edible plants.
