Dog sledding: Dog sledding may be physically demanding, especially when traveling uphill. It is important that you are fit and agile. Goggles highly recommended. Age restrictions apply - 12 years of age and older.

Horse driving and riding: Horse driving is available for horse lovers of any experience level. Our horseback, trail-riding adventures are designed for experienced riders due to the rugged and untouched nature of our wilderness trails. Helmets (mandatory) are available. Age restrictions apply - 12 years of age and older.

Eco-expeditions: Our eco-expeditions are designed for a wide range of fitness levels - from level 1 to 4+. Please call if you have children under 12.

Fly-fishing: Our fly-fishing adventures are designed for all ages and fitness levels. However, we carry waders for adults only.

Crown Jewel is located in North America�s north-east temperate zone. Our temperatures vary: in winter -10 to -15C/0F or lower. Spring and fall (typically rainy) - low teens (40F) to low 20�s (70F). In summer - to 28 (87F) or higher.

Winter:
* heavy, woolen blend socks
* sub-zero rated waterproof boots or mukluks
* undershirts and leggings/long-johns
* waterproof, insulated gloves/mittens
* neck-warmers/scarves
* water-repellent or water-proof insulated sub-zero snow suit. One piece recommended
* turtle-neck t-shirts
* warm, ear-protecting cap

Miscellaneous:
* hiking poles
* ski goggles
* balaclava

Spring, summer, fall:
* cotton blend or light woolen socks
* waterproof, high-cut hiking boots
* water shoes (to explore the river bed)
* rain gear; layered outerwear
* sweatshirts
* convertible hiking gear
* t-shirts (both long and short-sleeved)
* shorts with pockets for carrying small things
* cap or hat

Miscellaneous:
* sunglasses
* hiking poles, back pack, water bottle
* sun screen and insect repellent � no sprays!

To better enjoy your outdoor experiences we recommend: hand lens, field guides appropriate to our area and loads of film or several memory cards for that essential, permanent holiday record.

Pet policy
Your animal companions are welcome at Crown Jewel. Dogs and cats must be leashed at all times. We provide kennel accommodations. For other pet breeds, please direct your inquiries to our reservations clerk.

Other services
We would be pleased to arrange shuttle service, at an additional cost, to and from Sydney or Halifax.
